Vic and Christi competed this year with the Corvette 614, Shelby 55, Smokey Camaro 13 and the Boss 16. It was a great event with record crowds.
The Smokey Car had a mechanical incident so unfortunately they had to start last on the grid for the Saturday afternoon race. Vic in the 16 car, lost oil pressure in the Saturday morning race so he didn’t make the race in the afternoon.
They also ran a great carburetor contest for high school auto shop kids at the Edelbrock west coast event trailer. Each participant received $1000 scholarship from Ohio Technical College with the winning team receiving $5000, 2nd place $3000, 3rd place $2500. These contests are easy to do providing great opportunities for the kids, they are not teaching anything about carburetion at the high school level anymore!

Edelbrock Hot Rod Power Tour – Newton, IA
Saturday, June 5th, 2010
- Iowa Speedway – Newton, IA
Today we’re in Newton, IA - the host city for the start of the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour. This year’s Tour covers seven cities in seven days, from Newton, IA -to- Mobile, AL. If you’re familiar with the Power Tour, you know it is an eclectic mix of cool cars, automotive industry companies, host cities and a community of friendly people with one commonality – we all love cars.
Not familiar with Hot Rod Power Tour? Let me tell you what makes it so special…
It’s the idea of being in a new city every day. It’s the car show that takes shape throughout the day as participants funnel in from the 200-300 mile drive. It’s the local community coming out to see the car show – which is free to attend. It’s the camaraderie of friends made along the tour. It’s the smell of high octane fuel, the sound of loud exhausts and and the thumb of big camshafts. It’s the drive through middle America on long forgotten roads in this otherwise point-A-to-point-B get there as fast as you can world. It’s the drive through small towns where the local people turnout lining the streets in lawn chairs waiving American flags and begging for burnouts. It’s the feeling of knowing where you are going and enjoying every mile of the drive.
To sum it up, the Hot Rod Power Tour is a pilgrimage for Hot Rodders that forms a common bond through it’s seven city, seven day, ”here today, gone tomorrow” tour of middle America.

E-Force Corvette LS3 Superchargers Enroute to Dealers
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010TORRANCE, CA – Edelbrock is proud to announce the release of their new E-Force Supercharger kits for the C6 Corvette. The all new design pushes the stock LS3 engine up to an amazing 554 flywheel HP and 515 ft/lbs of torque (with stock fuel pump) or 599 flywheel HP and 547 ft/lbs of torque (with included high volume fuel pump). This supercharger incorporates the Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) Gen VI rotor assembly, the same internals used on the new ZR-1 Corvette, as well as an air to water twin intercooler system and dual core heat exchanger. Torque has been optimized through the use of 12” long runners, while low speed fuel economy is retained through the use of an internal bypass valve to reduce parasitic loss. All of this technology fits under the stock hood without modification to the hood, hood liner or cowl.
These kits include all of the upgraded components needed to support the increased power output of the engine, including 52 lb/hr injectors, a high flow air intake system and a hand-held programming module to update the ECU. They are designed to work with all OEM emissions equipment and a pending EO makes them 50 state street legal. The 554 HP kit (#1590) and 599 HP kit (#1591) are complete systems that include matching coil covers for a great under hood look, and are available with a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty for worry-free operation.

E-Force 1590 supercharger system
Edelbrock also offers an E-Force supercharger competition kit #1592, which eliminates the injectors, programmer, and engine covers to provide only the core components needed to build up a competition level vehicle. The supercharger drive pulley is also deleted to allow the end user to select from four pulleys ranging in size from 2.75” to 3.50” in diameter, depending on the boost level desired.
Features Include:
*No cutting or modification to stock body or hood (fits under stock hood, inner liner & cowl)
*2300 cc/rev Twin Vortices (TVS) Rotor Group
*Integrated bypass valve for little to no decrease in fuel economy
*Self contained oil system with 100,000 mile service interval (no drilling, no plumbing)
*Two 50 state emissions legal options (EO pending); 554 flywheel HP and 599 flywheel HP
*Available 5-year, 100,000 mile warranty
*Retail pricing: (#1590) 554 HP, $6,495.95; (#1591) 599 HP, $6,995.95
