19th annual 2011 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance
Wednesday, September 14th, 2011This Sunday Edelbrock will be attending the 19th annual Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance, to be held at Trump National Golf Club, Rancho Palos Verdes, California. We will be showing Vic Sr’s original dry lakes ‘32 roadster, Christi Edelbrock’s ‘66 Ford Shelby Mustang race car and our amazing ‘69 Dodge Super Bee. The Edelbrock trailer will also be on hand with Vic and Christi signing hats and posters throughout the day.
There will also be a Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge demonstration at the Edelbrock trailer. Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is an engine building competition. Students compete to win scholarship money by tearing down and re-assembling a 350 Chevy Small Block in the fastest time possible. Anaheim, California students from record setting Loara High School will be giving the engine building demonstration three times throughout the day as practice for their trip to the finals at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this November. Exciting stuff! Come out and enjoy the day! See you there.

For the 3rd stop, NMRA visits New Jersey, the one and only Garden State for an all out East Coast showdown. Bringing all the heavy hitters, this event is always the crowd pleaser. NMRA racers will turn up the heat as they we get closer to the mid-season. Expect some fast times and broken records this weekend!
As with all of our NMRA events, we have something to keep you entertained all weekend with the Vendor Midway, Car show, Swap meet and the infamous Burnout Contest!
Don’t forget about the Atco Raceway Bar, open all weekend to mingle and have a cold one while you watch Ford Drag Racing’s best racers battle it out on the track! It’s all waiting for you at Atco Raceway!

3rd Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals Rocks Atlanta Dragway!

The Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals, one of 2 combined points events, went to Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA, for the first time ever and rocked the house with over 15,000 fans witnessing 500+ muscle cars go wheels-up and even up in flames as the largest street-legal drag racing event of the year hit the Peach State. When the NMRA Keystone Automotive Ford Nationals, the NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals, and the GM Performance Parts LSX Challenge series combined for a weekend…fans knew they were in for something special. After a strong Friday night storm, fans awoke to sunny crisp skies and came out to be a part of a record-setting crowd at Atlanta Dragay, NHRA’s “house of speed.” Cool muscle cars were not limited to the strip, however, as over 300 of the finest hot rods on the planet entered the TREMEC / UPR Products Hot Rod & Muscle Car Show. Fans that hit the ATM on the way to the track cruised down a national-event midway with over 50 vendors displaying their products and selling speed & performance parts all weekend!
Heads-Up Muscle Car Drag Racing, Fire, and Wall Smack’in Action!
All the cars and all the stars of the NMRA/NMCA, and LS community put on a show for Atlanta area fans who came out to see the best in street legal drag racing. From wheels up NMRA Factory Stock cars to 6-second 200 mph NMCA Pro Street and Super Street cars…this event had it all. With crisp air and a passion for what they do, the Atlanta Dragway team had their track hook’n and cook’n with many record passes recorded by NMRA and NMCA’s competitors. ”Wild Action”…those 2 words are what fans will remember from the first NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. NMCA Super Street star, Tony Nesbitt, pictured above had his Corvette burst into flames on the starting line as a broken component ripped through a fuel line causing one of the most dramatic fires in NMCA history. The crack staff at Atlanta Dragway quickly extinguished the fire and Team Midnight worked throughout the night and actually had Tony’s Corvette ready for Sunday’s competition. Unfortunately, a problem at the line kept them from continuing to the next round. Mike Murillo, NMRA & NMCA Outlaw star, and Jason Lee, NMRA & NMCA Drag Radial champ, both brushed the wall at the stripe and with hard work were able to win rounds in Sunday’s eliminations.
TREMEC / UPR Products Hot Rod & Muscle Car Show:
Georgia is truly a motorsports state and nowhere was it more evident than in the combined TREMEC NMCA Car Show and the UPR Products NMRA Car Show. Over 300 of the best hot rods and muscle cars in the U.S. showed off for the fans. The car show area was a flood of chrome and vibrant colors with something for everyone. The award ceremony was first class as the show participants enjoyed the cool shade at the TREMEC / UPR Products Awards Pavilion.

17th Annual NMRA Spring Break Shootout

To start the season off right, the NMRA Ford Nationals will head up the new season in the Sunshine State. And what a better place to spend Spring Break, than the beaches of Florida, not to mention the NHRA drag strip nestled between the palm trees! Once again, we’ll start off the weekend, and the new Season, with a crazy Pre-Race Party at the Hooters of Bradenton. Last year’s NMRA Spring Break Shootout saw over 1000 participants and almost 20,000 spectators, so you can be assured that this event will be huge.
We will also be featuring the Muscle Mustangs Spring Break Shootout class, presented by Baer Brake Systems, where 16 of the hottest Fords take it from the street to the track. As the presenter and sponsor of the Edelbrock Rev’ved Up 4 Kidz charity car show, which benefits the Center for Learning Unlimited, of course we’re going to tell you how good the show actually was – and it’s true, it was a GREAT day. But when car enthusiasts, automotive industry vendors, local high school students of the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow engine challenge, a host of food vendors and two great bands – Jupiter Ignition and Mike Pinera of the Classic Rock All Stars – get together to raise money for the children of the Center for Learning Unlimted, it doesn’t take long for the buzz to spread throughout the media and enthusiast forums. So instead of us telling you about the event, we’re going to rely on the third party media and participants to share their thoughts.

- Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge – Teams from local high schools will compete in a head-to-head engine build competition. You will see these kids orchestrate the tear-down and reassembly of high performance Chevy engines. This is an outstanding show of teamwork. It is truly something you don’t want to miss.
- Awards ceremony – at approximately 3:00 our judges will be presenting awards to the Top 20 car entries.
Lets not forget that this show is a charity event that will help students of The Center for Learning Unlimited achieve educational success. This campaign may be the most important in the school’s existence as the State has cut key grants that help support the Center and it’s students. All proceeds are for the benefit of The Center for Learning Unlimited. A $5.00 donation to enjoy a great day of activities and entertainment will go a long way in ensuring the educational success of these special kids.Come out and Join Us.
