TORRANCE, CA (October 26, 2011) – NASCAR Performance and Edelbrock have announced the inclusion of the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge winners in NASCAR Acceleration Weekend as part of the prize package for the overall championship-winning team, which will be crowned at the third annual “Showdown at SEMA” in Las Vegas, NV on Nov. 4, 2011.
Six Divisional winners and four wildcard teams will compete at the “Showdown at SEMA”, sponsored by Edelbrock, and held Nov. 1 – 4 in the grand lobby of the SEMA (Specialty Market Equipment Association) Show. The top-10 high school auto tech teams who advanced via regional competitions across the country will compete head-to-head for the best average time as they tear down and rebuild identically built Chevy 350 high performance engines. Teams, which are made up of five students plus an instructor/coach, must properly disassemble the engine using hand tools only with proper de-torque and disassembly procedure, all while being viewed by judges and spectators. Time added penalties for dropped components, improper disassembly, assembly, and sportsmanship will be added to ensure correct assembly. When reassembled, the engines should fire up and run if gas, water, and oil were added. The team with the fastest time, including penalty minutes wins.
In this video series, V8TV is upgrading a 1969 Camaro SS 396 for better performance using an Edelbrock Top End Kit consisting of E-Street Heads, a RPM intake manifold, a mild street camshaft, and the required hardware and gaskets to put it all together. They are also adding a Holley Street Avenger Aluminum 670 carburetor for fuel, and an MSD Digital E-Curve distributor for spark. The Camaro will breathe better with a dual MagnaFlow stainless exhaust system, and it will run smoothly on Royal Purple Break-In Oil and Max Gear transmission oil. They’re also adding a Centerforce clutch for more grab. Under the car, they are detailing the subframe and suspension with Eastwood Underhood Black paint, and installing Global West Del-A-Lum bushings up front. A Baer Track disc brake kit is going on for better stopping power, and a Chassis Engineering front sway bar will help this car corer better.
In 2009 and 2011 Dave Schaub drove his Edelbrock powered 1932 Ford Roadster through two countries and 49 continental United States. Each trip was completed without a hitch. This trip was important to us because Dave was able to complete both of these drives flawlessly utilizing an EdelbrockCrate Motor and EdelbrockPerformance Lubricants and these were charity drives to fund the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. These were not your everyday drives. These were very extreme drives; the first one covered 9,856 miles in 8 days. The most resent was in September of 2011 when Dave Schaub drove to 49 states in 7 days, 14 hours and 21 minutes.
Please take the time to watch the interview with Dave Schaub.
A little word from Dave and his views on Edelbrock Performance.
In 2009 and 2011 I did some extreme drives through 49 states to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. Each time I drove my 1932 Ford Roadster, equipped with the EdelbrockCrate Motor.
I’ve logged over 52,000 miles on that motor. The motor still performs like it was new with great power and torque. Driving it hard each day for 18 to 20 hours a day really put the motor to the test. The Edelbrock Performance Lubricants were a big part of the success of the resent “49in7 Drivin’ for the Kids” event. Driving through 49 states in just 7 days, 14 hours and 21 minutes. Now that is a test!

ModJobs follows the modification of a 2012 Ford Mustang GT by a team of professionals in four different auto shops throughout Los Angeles. Each week, the series features a different video focusing on one aspect of the modification, and showing you how to do something like this yourself. In fact, the producers of ModJobs actively solicit the community to share input and determine what the car will look like at the end of the process. And once the car is in tip-top, cherry condition, eBay will have it listed on auction, with the proceeds going to help the Patriot Outreach organization.
Patriot Outreach supports military personnel, retirees, veterans, contractors and their families. The mission is twofold: to provide confidential access to effective resources for those people suffering as a result of traumatic experience while in the service of our nation, and to provide a forum whereby experienced professionals can share their expertise and experience. eBay is pleased to provide exposure to this organization that supports our veterans.

To make sure that your pulleys line up correctly in custom small- and big-block Chevy applications, it’s important that you choose the right water pump. Whether you need a short or long length pump, Edelbrock has both to fit just about any engine.
Using a tape measure and a straightedge, place the straightedge on the mounting surface of the hub. Then, measure distance to the engine block. Match your measurement to our “Dimension from block surface to hub” in our catalog or web site.
Edelbrock water pumps are designed, cast and machined here in the USA for the best quality and performance you can trust. Just because a water pump is made from aluminum, doesn’t mean it’s a performance water pump. Edelbrock water pumps are commonly “splashed” from the overseas competitors and marketed and sold by companies here in the U.S. Sure, these pumps can save your customer a few bucks, but are they willing to compromise the cooling performance of their muscle car or hot rod to save a few dollars? Buy American, buy Edelbrock! Go to our website for complete application listings and measurements.
Edelbrock took home two awards this past weekend at the 19th Annual Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. This year we entered three cars in the show.
