Day #7 – Gonzales, Louisiana
It was the final day of the 2015 HOT ROD Power tour. What an amazing experience. 7 cities in 7 days. Friday morning we monitor the weather seeing that there was a storm heading our way. We got the truck all set up and prepare for the Long Haulers to show up. Right around none the clouds start to close in and it was a mad dash to get displays back into the trailer. We took a quick shower but after about an hour the sun came back out to close out the day.
After everything was said and done, We loaded the Edelbrock’s into their rides back to the hotel and we delivered Vic’s Vette and Christie’s Camaro to the Transportation trailer and we packed up Big Red (Edelbrock Trailer).
Day #6 – Gulfport, Mississippi
Gulfport was the next stop on our tour. The venue was an old VA hospital that was destroyed by the hurricanes. It was humbling experience walking the hall ways and corridors. Gives you a glimpse as to how powerful mother nature really is. After the team set up, like clockworks the tour rolled in. The parking area was situated under these large trees which made for an awesome place to take pictures.
Ken Combs Pier that was destroyed by Katrina
Day #5 – Hoover, Alabama
With an almost 300 mile trek over to Hoover, the team hit the road for the second longest stretch to the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. The sun was out and baking the arena but the waves of cars continued to fill the parking lots. Great assortment of people and cars and with a helicopter flying above courtesy of Alabama Aerial Photography, we got a real perspective of how large this event has gotten.
Day # 4 -Millington, Tennessee
Memphis International Raceway was next. The Edelbrock Team made the long drive right after Madison to make it to Millington. The bugs were strong that night so the Team set off to wash and detail the Fleet before setting up. Once staged into our area, the trailer team was deployed and we were off to the races! With the plans to break the large burnout record later that afternoon, the day was looking to be eventful to say the least.
Day # 3- Madison, Illinois
We made it to thru day #2 off to Madison Illinois. Gateway Motorsports Park was an awesome venue and the weather was looking promising. Clear skies, amazing cars and even better people. The Drag strip was heating up. Feedback from some of the races led us to believe it was a little to hot and heat soaking the cars. Nonetheless it was a great turn out and the burn out contest closed out the show.
Day #2 – Champaign, Illinois
Day #1 was a huge success with an estimated 6500+ cars, trucks, vans, RV’s and much more. After Madison, Wisconsin the 2015 HOT ROD Power Tour headed down to Champaign, Wisconsin. The Crew started to pour in like the rain we went thru in our route and the cars never let up. Here is just a taste of some of the cool automobiles that where at Champaign.
We got ourselves a leaker
